Five Lankans detained in India launch fast

Five Sri Lankan Tamils housed in the special camp in Tiruchi went on a fast on Friday demanding their release.

The five abstained from taking food from the morning hours at the camp, The Hindu newspaper reported.

A case under Explosives Substances Act booked by the Chennai City Q Branch unit is pending against them.

Police sources said the five wanted to be released from the camp saying that they would attend the court hearing by staying outside.
