ITAK refuses to accept Kurukularaja’s resignation

The Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) party has reportedly rejected to accept the resignation letter of Northern Provincial Education Minister T. Kurukularaja.

Kurukularaja who was in the spotlight owing to corruption allegations had tendered his resignation to the ITAK last afternoon, Ada Derana reporter said.

Leader of the ITAK and Parliamentarian Mavai Senathirajah who asked Kurukularaja to ‘be patient’ had refused to accept the letter since a final decision has not yet been reached on the allegations, it was reported.

However, several Provincial Councillor have pointed out that if Kurukularaja intends to resign from his Ministerial post, he should tender the resignation to either the Chief Minister or the Provincial Council.
