Two court cases against former TNA Northern Provincial Council members, T Ravikaran and TELO Chairman M K Shivajilingham, have been adjourned after they were brought before the courts today.
The NPC members, T Ravikaran and six others were arrested for participating in a protest against illegal fishing by Sinhala fishermen in Mullaitivu on August 2.
Ravikaran and others were charged with causing damage to public property during the protest and subsequently released on bail.
Meanwhile, a second court case against Ravikaran and TELO Chairman Shivajilingham as well, has been adjourned until May 27.
Both men were accused of obstructing the surveying and measuring of 617 acres of land in Vadduvakal, Mullaitivu along with locals who were protesting against the planned acquisition of land.
