After the New Year, a meeting will be held between President Maithripala Sirisena and Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa, reports say.
It is reported that they are meeting to discuss the progress of the broad alliance to be formed combining the SLFP and the JVP against the UNP.
It is reported that they are scheduled to meet before the fourth round of talks between the SLFP and the SLPP May 09.
It has been reported that the two parties have agreed on 25 negotiating points arrived during the last three rounds of negotiations and they will be presented to the central committee of the two parties for approval before the 09th of next month.
President Maithripala Sirisena has told the UPFA’s parliamentary group that the SLFP, the JVP and all other anti-UNP elements should take stern action against the government after the New Year.
