Campaigning for the 2019 Presidential election in Sri Lanka will end at midnight on Wednesday (13), the Elections Commission announced.
All types of canvassing or election campaigning activities for the Presidential election scheduled for Saturday November 16 should end 48 hours before the election.
Accordingly, major rallies in which the presidential candidates are addressing the public will be held tomorrow.
The final rally of the New Democratic Front led by the ruling United National Party, which will be presided over by Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa, will be held at Maradana at 5 pm.
The final rally of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa will be held tomorrow at 4 pm at Somaweera Chandrasiri Grounds, Piliyandala.
The final rally of the presidential candidate of the JVP Anura Kumara Dissanayake will take place at Maharagama.
Meanwhile, all 35 presidential candidates have been summoned to the Election Commission tomorrow morning for a meeting.
The Election Commission states that this will be the last meeting before the presidential election on Saturday.
The meeting was called to inform the candidates of all duties from the moment the voting commenced on the 16th until the results are released and to discuss the problems they are experiencing.
