UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka, Hanaa Singer, met with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today and has discussed peace and reconciliation including the challenges and the way forward.
In a tweet, Ms. Singer said a wide range of UN support for Sri Lanka was discussed during the meeting with Premier Rajapaksa.
“We agreed to work in close partnership on a coordinated approach to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate action. We also discussed peace and reconciliation including the challenges and the way forward,” she said.
Prime Minister Rajapaksa’s Senior Advisor Professor G.L. Peiris and Prime Minister’s Secretary Gamini Senarath were also present at the meeting.
