A Sri Lankan court Friday further remanded six suspects, including the father of a suicide bomber who was killed in the Easter Sunday suicide bomb attack at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo, until the 28th February.

The Colombo Magistrate’s Court issued the order when the six suspects including Mohammed Ibrahim, a well-known businessman and resident of Mahawila Gardens, Dematagoda and father of suicide bomber Ilham Ahmed, were produced before the Colombo Additional Magistrate today.

The police requested the court to order the suspects to be remanded as further investigations are underway. Accepting the request, additional magistrate Tanuja Lakmali remanded the suspects until the 28th next month.

The suicide attacks on 21 April 2019 on three churches and three luxury hotels in Colombo killed 260 people including over 45 foreign nationals and injured over 500.
