All pharmacies in the island will be open for senior citizens today (02) and tomorrow (03) and on Monday, April 06, police headquarters said.
Director General of the Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe in a media statement said the Minister of Health and Indigenous Medical Services Pavithradevi Wanniarachchi, informed that head of the Special Task Force on COVID-19 Basil Rajapakse advised that all pharmacies should be opened to public on 02nd, 03rd and 06th of April.
The Government has made the arrangements to pay the pensions payments to retirees on April 2 and 3 and the Army will provide them with transport facilities, said Police Media Spokesman SP Jaliya Senaratne.
Pension payments will be made on April 06 also for those who do not receive payment on the scheduled days.
The Superintendent of Police stated that the pharmacies will be open for the benefit of the senior citizens on those days.
He said all police stations in the island have been asked to accept the senior citizens’ identity card as a curfew permit.
