The Health Ministry and the Presidential Task Force established to combat COVID – 19 have urged Ayurveda practitioners to immediately explore possibilities of finding an alternative Ayurveda medicine to cure COVID-19.
60 of Sri Lanka’s leading indigenous medical practitioners were called for a meeting by Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi and National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Head, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva yesterday (05)
During the meeting, a presentation was submitted by Ayurvedic practitioners explaining how indigenous medical practices could be applied in the treatment of COVID-19 and other associated preventive measures, including precautionary, curative and post-treatment phases of indigenous practices.
The practitioners have agreed to find a permanent medical solution to the deadly pandemic.
Lieutenant General Silva has asserted that armed forces in consultation with the Health Ministry would do everything possible to facilitate its production process if at all such attempts proved successful.
