People protest in Colombo on demanding to pass resolution on international investigations on disappeared personal

A group investigates on disappeared personals organised massive protest in Colombo end of this month on demanding to rescue disappeared personals from North and East and all round the country.

Protesters also stressed to pass resolution at UNHRC session in Geneva on holding international investigations on disappeared personal.

Secretary of this group Sundharam Mahendran confirmed this protest yesterday.

Journalists, young men, young women and thousands of people reported missing in SriLanka. Most of these disappearances reported during the time Mahinda Rajapaksa regime.

We never believe that present government will take legal action to find disappeared personals. International community should intervene on this issue, secretary said.

Yet we are fail to collect informations about people abducted by the military personals, people surrendered to and arrested by Lankan army in the final perhaps of war and also journalists disappeared while reporting news on illegal activities of the government.

Relatives of these victims strongly believe that they are alive. President appointed special commission to hold investigation of disappeared personals. This commission will commence their sittings on January 18th – 21st in Killinochchie.

A group investigates on disappeared personals expressed confident to grant justice for family members of disappeared personals in the United Nation Human Rights Commission.

Political parties raise voice on disappeared personals will also take part in this protest, sources said.
