TNA members protest at Eastern Provincial Council

Tamil National Alliance eastern provincial council members stage protest over adjourning the council end of the tea break.

Eastern Provincial Council decided not to appoint Tamil nationals obtained highest marks in the general examination for the assistants for management sector.

Council noted appointments were made according to the ethnic percentage in the province.

More than hundred Muslim nationals and 84 Sinhala nationals are invited for this examination.

However officials of the eastern provincial council fail to follow ethnic percentage method on appointing secretaries to ministries, directors and teachers in the province.

Tamil National Alliance strongly opposed the appointing Muslim national as the director of local council department of Eastern Province.
