In response to several accusations made by former president and SLFP Patron Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, former president and MP Maithripala Sirisena said there were no conflicts among them.
“There are no conflicts among us and we work together when we work for the country,” he said when asked Ms.Kumaratunga’s remarks that she is still the SLFP Chairperson and Mr. Sirisena’s chairmanship was illegal.
The former presidents were visiting the Bandaranaike statue in Galle Face on the occasion of the 122nd birth anniversary of late Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike.
The two leaders arrived separately to pay their respects. Ms. Kumaratunga who arrived earlier said Mr. Sirisena’s chairmanship was illegal. “I’m still the chairperson of the SLFP,” she said.
