Extrajudicial killings and tortures by police and prison authorities in Sri Lanka have been alleged in a report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council.
A prisoner rights group, Committee for Protecting Rights of Prisoners, has handed it over, along with another relating the appointment of a person sentenced by courts as the police chief.
Head of CPRP Sudesh Nandimal Silva has issued a video statement from Geneva about the handover of the reports.
