Sri Lanka reports three more COVID-19 deaths Wednesday raising total to 199

Sri Lanka confirmed four deaths on Wednesday due to COVID-19 raising the death toll from the viral disease to 199, according to health authorities.

The Director General of Health Services confirmed following four deaths caused by COVID-19 virus infection and accordingly the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 199 by now.

01. The deceased is a 72 year old male resident of Batticaloa. He has died on 30 December while receiving treatment at Batticaloa Teaching Hospital. The cause of death was mentioned as a pneumonia associated with COVID-19 and meningitis.

02. The deceased was a 70 year old female from Colombo-10 area. She was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 and transferred from the Colombo National Hospital to Homagama Base Hospital where she died on December 29. The cause of death is acute liver infection and blood poisoning associated with COVID-19.

03. The deceased was a 50 year old male from Kolonnawa. He was diagnosed as infected with COVID-19 and transferred from the Colombo National Hospital to Homagama Base Hospital where he died on December 29. The cause of death is acute kidney infection with high blood pressure resulting in a heart condition associated with COVID-19.

04. The deceased is a 66 year old male from Colombo-15 area. He has died on 29 December while on admission to the Colombo National Hospital. The cause of death is diabetes and pneumonia associated with COVID-19.
