Minister of Judicial Affairs Rauff Hakeem has met with US Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Robert O Blake on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.During his discussions with Blake, Minister Hakeem had stressed on the SLMC’s commitment to foster a national government over in the countries east, a request which had been jointly turned down, by the Country’s Government & the Tamil National Alliance.Minister Hakeem had also made it a point, to stress on the TNA’s non committal approach towards establishing a Parliamentary Select Committee which according to him, has led to a further complication of the status quo.
