President Mahinda Rajapaksa addressing the first Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit in Kuwait said the Asian Continent cannot be the playground of forces who seek its wealth, assets of nature and human resources.The President said I quote – “Our progress must draw from the best of our own cultures, while learning from the best of others who come with genuine friendship, Asia should strive to regain and safeguard its independence that is challenged on many fronts and across many borders The President added that the countries of Asia can succeed in rebuilding the continent by greater reliance on its cultural affinity, rich history, and the strength of its human resources, he said the ambition for progress and development in the Continent of Asia is limitless.President Rajapakse also said that with the rapidly growing economies and income levels, Asia is one of the most promising markets in the world and the abundance of natural resources has the potential to address the challenges of food and energy security.
