The UNP states that it is ready to engage in broad talks with all the political parties of the opposition regarding the difficulties faced by the public under the current government.These discussions will encompass all the parties in the joint opposition as well as the JVP and the Democratic National Alliance under the leadership of Sarath Fonseka.A senior spokesperson of the UNP stated that the party general secretary Tissa Attanayaka, MPs Gamini Jayawickrama, Joseph Michael Perera and Mangala Samaraweera will head the discussions.He further stated that special attention will be paid to safeguard the identity of the political parties of the opposition.UNP general secretary MP Tissa Attanayaka states that any member has the right to challenge a decision taken by the party.He made this statement while speaking to the media in Kandy yesterday afternoon.
