UNP National leader Ranil Wickremesinghe said that prominence would be given to UNP MP Sajith Premadasa when appointing a deputy leader for the party.

“He (Sajith) has once held the post of deputy leader of the party, so his name would be given priority,” Mr. Wickremesinghe said addressing the UNP’s 68th anniversary in Passara this evening.

Mr. Wickremesinghe however said the party’s Working Committee would decide about the deputy leader’s post when it meets.
