Flag of banned Sri Lanka terror group displayed in slain leader’s village

Sri Lanka police have removed a flag of the banned terrorist group Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) that was hung in a village in the Jaffna peninsula of the Northern Province.The massive flag of the banned terrorist outfit was displayed this morning in Valvettithurai, the home village of the slain leader of the LTTE Velupillai Prabhakaran.Police immediately removed the flag this morning but no one has been arrested so far for the subversive act.Prabhakaran’s birthday falls on November 26 and before its demise in 2009, the LTTE commemorated its ‘war heroes’ on the leader’s birthday.Sri Lanka military in May 2009 crushed the LTTE that ran a de facto state in about one third of the land of the island.
