Train Services Resume After Disaster from Cyclone Ditwah

Deputy Minister of Transport Prasanna Gunasena says train services between Ambewela and Badulla will resume today, 23 days after the disaster from Cyclone Ditwah.

He added that it will take some more time to restore train operations between Ambewela and Nanuoya.

Meanwhile, the Department of Railways has decided to resume train services between Colombo Fort and Trincomalee from today.

Accordingly, two daily train services will operate — one departing Colombo Fort at 7.00 a.m. and the other leaving Trincomalee at 7.00 a.m. starting today.
