Former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, alias Pillayan, has been further remanded until September 1 over a series of murder cases involving the shooting deaths of five people in several areas of the Eastern Province, police said.
Pillayan was arrested in connection with the alleged killings, in which the victims were reportedly shot using T-56 assault rifles.
He was produced before court today and ordered to be further remanded until September 1
