Sri Lanka new govt’s policy statement passed in parliament unanimously

Sri Lanka President Anura Kumara Dissnayake’s policy statement for the new government was passed in the parliament without a vote on Wednesday (04) after two days of debate.

In the statement, President Dissanayake outlined the major policies he intended to carry out in his five year tenure along with more than a two-third parliament majority for his Marxixts-leaned National People’s Power (NPP).

The policy statement also covered the key changes the government wants to introduce aiming to eradicate corruption and ensure social justice while focusing on a modern economy.
