Buddhist Media Conference Held in New Delhi: Promoting Media and Communication Through Buddhist Teachings

The International Buddhist Conference (IBC) successfully hosted the second annual Buddhist Media Conference at the Vivekananda International Hall in New Delhi. The event brought together media officials, religious leaders, and representatives from around the world to discuss the role of Buddhist teachings in shaping modern media practices.T

he conference emphasized the importance of incorporating Buddhist principles into media communication, conflict resolution, and accurate reporting. Discussions centered around how sustainable Buddhist teachings can be applied to resolve conflicts and foster a balanced, ethical approach to journalism and media production.

Among the distinguished attendees was Tharanga Wickramadara, Head of Religious Programming at Swarnawahini and Monara Media Network, who represented Sri Lanka’s media sector.

Representatives of Buddhist organizations, media professionals, and monks from various countries contributed to the discussions. Dr. Daminda Porage, Vice President of the International Buddhist Federation, led a Sri Lankan delegation, showcasing the country’s commitment to promoting Buddhist principles on a global scale.
