‘Come outside’ Chamal challenges Fonseka as a ‘Donkey’ in Parliament

Parliament was adjourned for a short period on Thursday (08) morning following a heated exchange between government members and opposition.

Tensions erupted in Parliament during a heated argument between Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka and Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.

“Between 2010 & 2015 I was unjustly treated by the then-government,” said Sarath Fonseka adding following the unwarranted punishment imposed on him he filed appeals to be allowed to return to parliament.

Minister Chamal Rajapaksa who was the speaker at the time said it was he allowed Fonseka to enter Parliament.

An enraged Rajapaksa referred to Fonseka as a ‘Donkey’ and demanded the latter to come outside.

Opposition MPs were seen wearing black bands to protest the speaker’s decision on Ranjan Ramanayake’s parliamentary seat.
