Minister Tiran Alles has begun reorganizing the United People’s Party (UPP), of which the public security minister is the general secretary.
Several new politburo members were appointed recently. Accordingly, the party’s political and media secretary is tuition master Hemapriya Kaviratne, who was the convener of Black Cap Movement during the ‘Aragalaya’ period.
Attorney Wajira Ranasinghe is the legal and administrative secretary, while retired senior policeman Ranjith Dassanayake is the national organizer with Sumith Ratnamalala as his deputy.
Sameera Manahara is the youth affairs secretary.
